Red Heart

I needed to use new red roses, because the ones I was using have been either permanently or temporarily discontinued. These are also easy to work with and very near the same shade of red as the others. Enjoy!

This is a red, black and ivory cascading bouquet.
It was made with red roses, and black and ivory sweetheart roses (sweetheart roses are smaller roses than the standard sizes). I also included baby's breath, sheer ivory ribbon, and satin red and black ribbon.

CHRISTMAS! bouquet

Pictures of the roses up close (sorry, one was pretty dark...hard to get the lighting right on a gloomy day). The bouquet is made of burgundy and white roses, gold berries, red poinsettias, frosted evergreens, gold sheer ribbon and burgundy ribbon. Quite a large bouquet measuring approximately 15" across and 29" long! It got me started feeling the holiday spirit (before Halloween! :D)!

This is a picture of corsages and boutonnieres that I make. This is more specifically what you see with the red heart rose bouquet set on my ebay auctions.

Some people don't know the difference between corsages and boutonnieres, or even what they mean.

Corsages are flowers for women. They come with a bow and are either pinned on or have a wristlet (wristband) to wear on the wrist.

Boutonnieres are for men. Generally, they do not contain bows, but I have added just a pair of ribbon streamers next to the rose when a client wanted a second color to be present.

Purple and White heart Bouquet

This is a light and medium Purple and white rose heart shaped bouquet. The heart bouquet has been requested in many different colors and has turned out well each time!

A wider Swag

Here is a wider swag. It measures 30" long and between 8-9" at the center/widest part.

Red & Ivory Wedding flowers

The top two pictures of this post are two 6' garlands in red roses and ivory sweetheart roses. The first photo is up close, and the second is fitting almost all of the two garlands into the shot...tough to do! :)

The third picture is a swag using the same flowers.

And finally a cascading bridal bouquet using red roses and ivory sweetheart roses with baby's breath to accent.

Vases and Candle Rings

Lately, I've had requests for items other than bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres, which is a nice change every once in a while.

Candle rings do take more time, while vase arrangements are basically a bouquet that doesn't need to have the stems wrapped, so they take the same amount of time.

The above are samples I made for a wedding in lavender and white. An easy little mix of flowers to go with the lavender heart shaped bouquet set. I believe that vase arrangement was priced at $15.00, a small one for a vase that was signed by the guests (a neat alternative to the guest book).

Pretty in Periwinkle

This is a periwinkle set I've made for a bride. The bridal bouquet is on the right with white lilies and roses and periwinkle hydrangea (a personal favorite), and the left is a matching bridesmaid bouquet with white roses and lilies, and more of the periwinkle blue hydrangea. Each come with a matching bow.

Here is a 9.5" round handtied red and ivory rose bouquet. This is made for an order for a bridesmaid's bouquet. It's what I would probably call a medium size, my small is a 7" bouquet and sells for the great price of $10.00. The medium is only a few dollars more for a few more roses.

Weddings come in all colors...

This corsage is a sample for a bride who is having white, silver (pewter tone), and black wedding colors.

I used a pewter colored spray paint to turn a white rose into this sort of antiqued rose. This picture is of a corsage, and a sample of pewter ribbon in the background.

If this order is picked up, I will post more pictures of the completed items, but I didn't want to spray a lot of silver flowers only to find out they wouldn't be used. :)

Red & Ivory wedding flowers

These are Red & Ivory rose bouquet samples that were requested by a bride on ebay. The bride's bouquet measures 14" across by 22" long with red and ivory roses. The bridesmaid bouquet (8" across by approximately 12" long) is handtied, the stems wrapped with ivory satin ribbon, and also containing red and ivory roses. The background is my wedding dress, which is white.

The maid of honor's bouquet will be a little larger than the bridesmaid and include some open red roses along with the rosebuds pictured.

These are red rose boutonnieres that are samples for the fathers, grandfathers, and ushers....the groom will have an ivory rosebud boutonniere, and the ring bearer will have two smaller ivory rose buds for the boutonniere.

I will be making a sample corsage to post either during the course of this weekend. (I'll be picking up more of the open ivory roses to do so tomorrow-Sat).

Pink ribbon vs. Coral ribbon

The bouquet on the left has a coral ribbon, on the right a hot pink ribbon with a peachy sheer ribbon.

Pink & White Peonies with Peachy roses

Above is a bridesmaid bouquet. It has the peonies and roses and a hot pink satin ribbon with a peachy/coral sheer ribbon.

The bride's bouquet is oblong in shape, non-symmetrical, with peony and rose leaves coming out and around the sides to soften and frame it. The stems are wrapped with a white satin ribbon, and the bow is a simple single loop on each side with streamers. The ribbon is 4" in width (the biggest satin there is around, I think! :)

Purple, White & Black Heart

This is a purple, white and black heart shaped bouquet. I also added white baby's breath to it. The purple roses came with a lovely lavender/purple small filler flower (like baby's breath, but spikey), that softens the bouquet nicely.

Lt Yellow vs yellow

The picture above has a VERY light yellow rose on the left with a canary/yellow rose on the left.
The picture on the right side has all of the VERY light roses only in the shot.

This is a solid yellow heart bouquet (10" X 10") a good size for a flower girl.

It's Orange, Pink, Blue and Ivory

Okay, I must admit, I thought this one would be impossible. Orange, pink and blue together? No way, it's just too crazy, right? Then I thought about all the great bright summer colors that are used together....yeah, it could work.

And I think it does. So, I hope my bride likes it too! I'll let you know what she thinks! It just goes to show you that just when you think some colors can't work together, they probably can. ;)

Another shade of heart

This was requested by a bride for a flower girl. It's similar to the red heart shaped and lavender heart shaped. I find that when I'm able to showcase the same style in different colors, it helps the client to visualize what a bouquet might look like.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Here is a change of color from the red rose heart shaped bouquet (which happens to be a continued high interest on ebay even after Valentine's Day....when I was afraid the interest would fade).

This is a mixed lavender and ivory heart shaped bouquet designed for a flower girl (like my little model who is pictured). The size is 10" by 10", and is in a white bouquet holder. Also included is a touch of ivory baby's breath to soften the space in between the roses.

Happy Holidays! Welcome 2009!

This year will be a busy one for me come August with the addition to our family.

I'm focusing on selling the heart shaped bouquet on ebay right now. I think with Valentine's Day next month, it could be a big hit.

In the meantime, I'm planning what I'll be making once I get my energy back! :) I'll be working on spring/summer bouquets in pinks & greens, lavenders, and researching what the other popular colors are out there!

So, keep checking back occasionally for new pictures of new creations!
